As Kenya braces for what could be a defining moment in its history, celebrated rapper and activist Juliani has delivered a message that’s striking hearts across the nation.

With the June 25 memorial protests just hours away, Juliani isn’t just dropping lyrics — he’s offering a street strategy.

In a now-viral post on X (formerly Twitter), the Bahasha ya Ocampo hitmaker urged protestors to stay united, safe, and smart; his message was,  “For June 25th, find your crew of at least 10 people. Leave your neighborhood together, back each other up in the streets, and return home together.”

This isn’t just clever advice — it’s deeply rooted in the reality of Kenya’s streets. Last year’s protests over the Finance Bill ended in tragedy, with more than 60 lives lost and hundreds injured. Many were young, full of promise, and peacefully demanding a better future.

Juliani, a veteran of both music and movement, understands what’s at stake. His words reflect the essence of mbogi culture — that in moments of vulnerability, community is protection. Unity isn’t just symbolic; it’s survival.

Kenyans went online to engage and rallied around the message, with a few comments to show their take on the subject.

HAKUNA KURUDI MTAANI BILA FREEDOM YETU! WACHA HIZO!

Bodas and Mat3s can and should also spread the message widely. Infact if everywhere played the Anthem. 12 pmkesho, I feel like that would really set this up.

Hii mentality ya kurudi mtaani ndo inamaliza hii revolution momentum. Buana we only rest once the freedom is attained, kwanihatujalearn!?#June25th#OccupyStatehouse

Sina mbogi lakini nitatokea!

Juliani’s voice, familiar yet fierce, reminds us that protesting is not just about resistance — it’s about resilience. It’s about making sure everyone who shows up also makes it home. And it’s about remembering that even as individuals fight for justice, it is together that change is truly won.

As the countdown to June 25 continues, one thing is clear: this protest is not just a reaction — it’s a movement. And thanks to voices like Juliani’s, it’s becoming smarter, louder, and more united by the hour.
