Bob Njagi

Political activist Bob Njagi, who endured a harrowing 32-day abduction in August 2024, has made a chilling revelation about the disappearance of Wajir MCA Yussuf Hussein Ahmed.

Njagi, in an interview with Citizen TV, claimed he was held in a room adjacent to where the missing MCA was being kept.

"We might be laughing about this matter sometimes but I want to say that the MCA for Wajir was actually in the room where I was. I had the opportunity of peeping through the keyhole and I saw him," Njagi stated.

Njagi recounted that Ahmed was brought to the location on the night of Friday, September 13, 2024. He remembered the specific date because he had been meticulously tracking the days of his own captivity.

"I did my own investigation and found that he was a man of Somali origin and immediately when I was released, I did my own search online and realised that on the same day, September 13, there was a man who was abducted at Enterprise Road and that’s the same man who was brought to where we were," he explained.

Njagi's account places Ahmed alive and in the custody of their abductors at the time of Njagi's release.

The whereabouts of the Della Anole Ward MCA remain a mystery, almost five months after he vanished. His disappearance has been marked by confusion and conflicting information.

A month after Ahmed went missing, a mutilated body, believed to be his, was discovered in Lake Yahud. While his family initially identified the body, subsequent independent DNA tests proved inconclusive, revealing that the remains were not Ahmed's.

The circumstances surrounding Ahmed's abduction are also unclear. He was reportedly taken in Nairobi while traveling in a taxi from South C to Pangani.

The taxi driver, Wambua Kioko, told police that armed men in unmarked Toyota Land Cruiser Prados intercepted their vehicle and forcibly removed the MCA.

Adding to the intrigue, Njagi also issued a direct warning to one of his alleged captors, whom he knows only as "Chairman." Speaking on Citizen TV's JKLive show, Njagi described the circumstances of his release, which occurred after 32 days of captivity.

He recounted how, late one night, his captors unexpectedly opened his cell, an unusual occurrence, as the doors were normally locked from midday until the following day. They then released him.

Njagi, who leads the Free Kenya Movement, declared that despite his traumatic experience, he and his fellow activists are more determined than ever to fight for good governance.

He stated the movement is organizing as a political alternative to challenge the current administration, aiming to replace President William Ruto's government.

"Yes, we have been through an abduction, but we are not relenting in our struggle and our push for good governance. If anything, this is something that has given us a reason to be bolder to what we are doing," he asserted.

"I want to say it here on JKLive, as the Free Kenya movement we are organizing as an alternative leadership to take over this country's leadership to take over this country after we send this government home in the near future or 2027."

The comments in reaction to the revelation were a range of reactions, from disbelief to anger and calls for justice.

Some users express skepticism about Njagi's claims, while others voice strong condemnation of the alleged abductions and call for accountability.
