Is Kenya moving in the right direction or wrong direction?/Sydney Nyachiro

A new Politrack Africa survey released on October 1, 2026, shows Kenyans are almost evenly divided over the direction of the country, with only a 0.6 percentage-point gap between those who believe Kenya is moving in the right direction and those who think it is headed in the wrong direction.

According to the survey, 45.2% of respondents said Kenya is moving in the right direction, while 44.6% said the country is headed in the wrong direction.

Another 10.2% were unsure about the country's trajectory.

The findings point to closely divided public sentiment, with neither view commanding a clear majority.

The narrow difference between the two groups reflects a largely split assessment of Kenya's current direction among those surveyed.

The survey was conducted between September 15 and 25, 2026, among 20,419 respondents across the country.

Politrack said the results were weighted according to each county's share of registered voters, with a reported margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
