Mental health is the leading health concern globally, according to the Ipsos Health Service Report 2025, with 45% of respondents identifying it as a major health problem facing their country.

The survey, conducted between July and August 2025 among 23,172 online adults aged under 75 across 30 countries, found cancer ranked second at 41%, followed by stress at 31%.

Other major concerns included obesity at 25%, drug abuse at 23% and diabetes at 19%. Alcohol abuse and heart disease each accounted for 16% of responses.

The findings highlight the prominence of mental health alongside long-standing concerns such as cancer, stress and chronic lifestyle-related conditions in public perceptions of the world’s major health challenges.
