Kenya’s regulated Savings and Credit Co-operative Societies (Saccos) have recorded significant financial expansion, with total assets crossing the trillion-shilling mark.

According to The Sacco Supervision Annual Report, 2025, the asset base rose from Sh971.96 billion in 2023 to Sh1.076 trillion in 2024. Growth momentum continued into 2025, pushing overall assets further to Sh1.210 trillion.

The steady upward trajectory highlights increasing public trust and robust member participation in formal financial cooperatives across the nation.

Industry experts attribute the sustained growth to enhanced regulatory oversight and expanding credit facilities offered to small businesses and individual savers nationwide.
