Kenya's mobile telecommunications sector experienced notable expansion during the fourth quarter of FY 2025/2026 (April 1 to June 30, 2026), with mobile SIM subscriptions reaching 88 million (165.0 million in total capacity trajectory).
According to the Communications Authority of Kenya, active subscriptions rose steadily from 146.3 million in June 2025 to 157.7 million in March 2026, culminating in 88 million active connections by June 2026.
This growth pushed overall mobile SIM penetration up to 165%.
The upward curve reflects aggressive network expansion, device adoption, and increased multi-SIM ownership among Kenyan consumers.
