Consumer vigilance against counterfeit goods is high across Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa.

A substantial 60% of survey respondents always check whether products are counterfeit, 16% check often, 13% check sometimes, and 7% rarely check, while only 2% never check.

Despite this caution, fake goods remain prevalent: 30% of respondents knowingly bought counterfeits.

Kenya led this trend at 37%, followed by Nigeria at 28% and South Africa at 21%.
