Custom revenue collections in Kenya experienced steady financial growth across six consecutive fiscal years, rising from Sh624.77 billion in 2020/21 to Sh988.78 billion in 2025/26.
The upward trajectory began in the 2020/21 financial year, when collections stood at Sh624.77 billion. Revenue grew to Sh728.53 billion in the 2021/22 period, before expanding further to Sh754.09 billion during the 2022/23 financial cycle.
Performance continued on a strong path in 2023/24, with total collections reaching Sh791.37 billion. By the 2024/25 financial year, figures rose to Sh879.33 billion.
The most recent figures reveal that the Customs and Border Control Department collected Sh988.78 billion during the 2025/26 financial year.
This latest figure marks a 12.4 percent increase in collection compared to the Sh879.33 billion gathered throughout the 2024/25 fiscal cycle.
Over the entire six-year span, Kenya's annual customs revenue expanded by more than Sh364 billion, reflecting consistent year-on-year gains across the reporting period.
