
Kenya followed closely in second place, contributing 14.58 per cent to the continent's total cigarette export share. West Africa's largest economy, Nigeria, secured the third spot with 11.30 per cent, while Senegal captured 10.10 per cent of the market share.
Southern African tobacco producer Zimbabwe ranked fifth, generating 9.80 per cent of total exports across Africa. East Africa's presence was further highlighted by Tanzania, which accounted for 7.35 per cent of exports.
North African nations also represented a significant segment of the trade, led by Tunisia at 7.17 per cent and Morocco closely following with 6.76 per cent of total African cigarette exports.
Rounding out the top exporter group were Uganda, which accounted for 2.98 per cent, and Burkina Faso, contributing 2.81 per cent of total exports across the continent.
