Kenya’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) continued to rise over the past year, pointing to a steady increase in the cost of goods and services.
According to data from the Kenya Consumer Price Index and Inflation Report released on July 31, 2026, the CPI rose from 145.7 in July 2025 to 155.2 in July 2026.
The index recorded gradual increases throughout the period, rising to 146.2 in August, 146.5 in September and 147.0 in November.
It reached 148.0 in December before climbing to 148.9 in January 2026 and 149.2 in February.
The upward trend continued in March, when the index reached 150.0, before rising to 152.1 in April.
It then increased sharply to 154.5 in May and 154.9 in June, before reaching 155.2 in July.
The CPI tracks changes in prices of everyday goods and services consumed by households, providing a key measure of changes in living costs.
