Kenya’s 2027 election campaigns are expected to involve higher spending limits in categories compared with the 2017 polls, according to figures released by the electoral commission.
The ceiling for political parties has risen from Sh15.03 billion in 2017 to Sh17.7 billion in 2027.
However, the presidential candidate ceiling has fallen from Sh5.2 billion to Sh4.44 billion. Spending limits for the highest-spending constituency have increased from Sh33 million to Sh123 million, while the highest-spending MCA ward ceiling has risen from Sh10.3 million to Sh20 million.
