Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o has been ranked the lowest-performing governor in the latest Senate county performance assessment by the Parliamentary Budget Office.

He is followed by Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa, Busia Governor Paul Otuoma, Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

All five counties received a Grade D in the County Fiscal Performance Measurement (2026), indicating weak performance in the assessed indicators.

The ranking evaluates counties on fiscal management and the use of public resources.

The latest assessment places the five counties at the bottom of the national standings, highlighting areas that may require improvement in financial management and overall county performance.
