Eastleigh North MCA Ahmedqadar Dabar has been unanimously re-elected as the chairperson of the Nairobi County Assembly Ward Development Fund (WDF) Committee.
Dabar received the support of all the 11 committee members during an election held at the County Assembly precincts, earning another term at the helm of the influential committee.
Speaking after his re-election, Dabar thanked the members for the confidence they had shown in his leadership and pledged to ensure the completion of ongoing projects as well as the settlement of pending payments for completed works across the wards.
"I want to take this opportunity to thank members for unanimously electing me as their chairman for the remainder of the period. I also want to assure them that I will ensure that contractors who have completed their work in our wards are all paid," he said.
Dabar said the committee would move with speed to facilitate the implementation of new development projects once the 2026-27 Financial Year budget is uploaded and operationalised.
"We want to ensure that we advertise those projects when the budget is up so that we do something with the short period remaining," he said.
The Ward Development Fund Committee is mandated to oversee ward-based development projects being implemented by the Nairobi City County Executive, ensuring effective utilization of funds and timely delivery of projects to residents.
