The latest valuation figures, calculated using stock prices and currency exchange rates from the close of business on March 1, 2026, demonstrate substantial wealth concentration across manufacturing, retail, mining, and diversified sectors.
Following Dangote, South Africa’s Johann Rupert & family occupy the second spot with a fortune of $16.1 billion tied to the fashion and retail sector.
Nigeria’s Abdulsamad Rabiu holds third position with $11.2 billion through diversified operations.
Metals and mining heavyweights also feature prominently among the top tier. South Africa's Nicky Oppenheimer & family rank fourth with $10.6 billion, while compatriot Patrice Motsepe holds eighth place with a valuation of $4.3 billion in the same industry.
Egyptian business leaders maintain a strong presence on the leaderboard. Nassef Sawiris places fifth with $9.6 billion in construction and engineering, followed by Naguib Sawiris in seventh place with $5.6 billion in telecom, and Mohamed Mansour in ninth with $4 billion from diversified holdings.
Rounding out the top ten are Nigerian mogul Mike Adenuga, occupying sixth place with $6.5 billion in diversified investments, and South African financier Michiel Le Roux in tenth position, commanding a net worth of $3.8 billion in finance and investments.
