Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata has emerged as the best-performing governor in the latest Infotrak CountyTrak Performance Index, with an 80 per cent public approval rating.
Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya ranked second with 76 per cent, followed by Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi at 71 per cent.
Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga and Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. tied at 66 per cent, while Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisely Rotich, Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o and West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin each scored 65 per cent.
Kisii Governor Simba Arati and Samburu Governor Jonathan Lelelit completed the top 10 with 63 per cent each.
The rankings are based on the Infotrak survey released on August 4, 2026, measuring public approval of governors' performance.
