Green vegetables experienced the sharpest hikes; Sukuma-wiki prices surged by 20.3% to reach Sh90.24 per kilogram, while Cabbages followed closely with a 20.0% increase to Sh57.95.
Sugar prices also trended upward, growing 3.2% to settle at Sh177.05. English Potatoes saw a 6.2% rise, ending at Sh90.63. In contrast, Wheat Flour offered a reprieve for households, with the price of a 2kg pack dropping by 6.5% to Sh 168.68 by 2025.
These statistics underscore a period of substantial price adjustments, particularly for fresh produce, which heavily impacted the annual average retail costs for Kenyan consumers.
