The 2026 Economic Survey reports that 334 offences were committed by children in 2025, with boys accounting for the vast majority of cases.
General stealing was the most prevalent offence, totaling 115 incidents involving 109 boys and 6 girls.
This was followed by sexual offences at 85 cases and breakings at 40.
Serious crimes included three counts of murder and three of manslaughter.
Additional data shows 22 cases involving dangerous drugs and 15 related to assault.
Conversely, offences such as theft of motor vehicles and stealing by servant recorded zero instances.
The statistics highlight a significant gender disparity in juvenile delinquency, as boys were involved in nearly every category, while girls were represented in only a small fraction of the reported offences.
