The ongoing Affordable Housing Projects have reached a significant scale, with a cumulative total of 271,605 units either completed or currently under construction.
Data released indicates that while 8,367 units are already finished, the vast majority of the program’s momentum is currently tied up in active development, with 191,823 units listed as under construction.
The scope of the initiative extends beyond standard residential units to include specialised housing sectors. Institutional and staff housing accounts for 20,904 units, while student housing contributes 36,889 units, translating to 129,113 individual beds.
Furthermore, private developer projects benefiting from VAT exemptions have added 13,622 units to the tally.
These figures highlight a multi-faceted approach to addressing the housing deficit, emphasising high-density urban developments.
As thousands of workers continue on-site activities across the country, the program remains a central pillar of national infrastructure and social welfare investment.
