Celebrity Citizen TV news anchor Jeff Koinange recently shared a deeply personal moment with his followers.

Alongside his family, he visited the final resting place of his father, Frederick Mbiyu Koinange, to mark 60 years since his passing.

The visit was a quiet, sombre affair aimed at honouring a man who left a significant void in the lives of his children six decades ago. For Jeff, the milestone served as a time of reflection on a father he barely knew but whose legacy has shaped his journey.

The grave was adorned with several large bouquets, including a prominent arrangement of white lilies and pink roses.

The crisp white gravel surrounding the base of the tomb contrasted with the lush trees in the background, creating a peaceful atmosphere for the family's prayers and reflections.

"A SPECIAL day for a SPECIAL Man....it’s been 60 years since you left us to be with the Lord,” Jeff Koinange captioned.

The Koinange Legacy

Frederick Mbiyu Koinange was a notable figure in his own right, belonging to one of Kenya’s most prominent families. The tombstone at the site describes him as a "Son, Brother, Father, and Friend" who lived a life of "Dignity, Honour, and Purpose."

Jeff has often spoken in the past about the challenges of growing up without a father figure. He frequently credits his mother’s strength for his success in the media industry.

This 60-year anniversary visit was a rare public glimpse into the anchor’s private efforts to maintain a connection with his paternal roots.

The simple act of laying a wreath 60 years after the burial highlights the deep-seated respect the family holds for their patriarch. For Jeff Koinange, it was a day to bridge the gap between a childhood loss and a celebrated present.
