Nondies utility back Tony Fidens in action against Nakuru RFC/HANDOUT

Nondies face Quins in a mouthwatering Impala Floodlit clash on Saturday as the 43rd edition enters the semifinal stage on Saturday.

Both sides posted routine wins in their quarterfinals last weekend with Nondies beating Impala 24-11 while Quins saw off Blak Blad 16-11.

Nondies head coach Moses Wanyaga said the side will have to win the battle upfront if they are to qualify to a second consecutive final.

"It boils down to how how forwards execute, win the collisions and set-piece ball and improving our defensive alignment,” noted Wanyaga.

Wanyaga's charges have had the upper hand, winning the past six meetings against Quins.

However, the coach believes history will count for nothing in what is expected to be a competitive clash.

"I take each match differently form the last. We are not going to underestimate them since they are a quality side. This it promises to be a tough battle," he said.

Nondies will rely on their robust and mobile pack which includes skipper Tony Owuor, Charles Omondi, Boniface Ochieng', Collins Odwori and Hillary Baraza with Tony Fidens, Dominic Osino and Bruce Odhiambo the pick of the backs.

Quins will be keen to end that losing streak against their illustrious neighbours.

"We have had a poor run against them but this promises to be a good opportunity for us to turn the tables, which will give us a confidence heading into the new season,” said Quins head coach Patrice Agunda.

Agunda will have the likes of skipper Jeff Kiragu, Nathaniel Mwangi and Mohamed Khaider in the forwards with Kenya under-20 international Faran Juma directing traffic from flyhalf, alongside Albert Alela and Alvin Mutachi.

The first semifinal pits former champions KCB against Mwamba .

Andrew Amonde's bankers will are the favourites as they chase a record 11th title after missing out in the last two seasons.

In the women's category Mwamba face Northern Suburbs while Impala meet Quins in derby showdown.

In the varsity category JKUAT have a date against Zetech Oaks while USIU battle Daystar Falcons.
