National Police Service salary structure/ROSA MUMANYI

The National Police Service has entered its final year of salary implementation, introducing a revamped pay structure across 12 distinct police grades.

This adjustment reflects a significant commitment to improving the welfare of officers, with the most notable impact seen at the entry level.

Police constables, who occupy the lowest cadre within the service, are slated to receive a 48 per cent increase in their earnings.

According to the new figures, the starting monthly salary for the lowest grade has risen from Sh20,390 to over Sh29,000.

At the highest end of the spectrum, senior officers in the top grade can now reach a maximum salary exceeding Sh345,000.

This tiered system ensures that as officers progress from the first to the 12th grade, their minimum and maximum pay brackets expand accordingly.

By modernising these financial scales, the service aims to provide a more competitive and sustainable compensation package for its personnel.
