Bishop Benson Kiengei of Jesus Compassion Ministries (JCM) has issued an urgent public appeal to find veteran gospel singer Mary Atieno.
The move comes after a viral video showed the visually impaired musician performing in a state of visible neglect.
The footage, which trended over the weekend, left many viewers deeply saddened. In the video, the "Adamu na Eva" hitmaker appeared wearing a faded black hoodie and a worn red skirt.
A Call for Dignity
Writing on social media on 2 March 2026, Bishop Kiengei asked to be connected to Atieno’s handling team. He expressed a desire to uplift her life after seeing her current condition.

"We should not allow her to suffer in pain and poverty while we still consume what Holy Spirit instilled in her." — Bishop Ben Kiengei.
The bishop noted that JCM Church has something special prepared for the singer. He also alluded to reports of people who may have unfairly benefited from her situation following her loss of sight.
