Earlier That Day: Helping Flood Victims

Earlier in the day, Ngeno had also been responding to a separate tragedy in his constituency.

Two young men had been swept away by floods in the Mara River the previous Sunday night.

The MP joined search efforts, visited grieving families and shared a message urging residents to remain cautious around swollen rivers and flooded roads during the rainy season.

A Chilling Video From the Helicopter

A video he shared from inside the helicopter later added to the shock surrounding his death.

The clip, filmed while flying over a river, captured a peaceful moment inside the aircraft.

In the background, a gospel song by Upendo Nkone played softly, with lyrics asking for divine guidance and protection.

After news of the crash broke, many Kenyans described the video as eerily poignant.

Tributes and Shock Across Social Media

The sudden loss sent shockwaves across the country.

Social media quickly filled with messages of grief and disbelief, with many Kenyans expressing sadness over the tragedy.

Comments such as “Gone too soon,” “How will our mothers take this?” and “Why now? God it’s so sad” flooded online platforms.

One of Ngeno’s close friends revealed he narrowly missed boarding the helicopter after his boda boda suffered a puncture.

He later shared an old photo of the two of them, mourning the loss of their long friendship.
