The United Nations has highlighted simple, practical steps individuals can take to reduce plastic pollution, which continues to threaten marine life and pose risks to human health.

The guidance encourages people to carry reusable shopping bags and water bottles, refuse plastic straws, and choose reusable items over single-use plastics.

Other measures include storing food in glass containers, switching to bamboo toothbrushes, using shampoo bars to cut down on packaging, and buying products with little or no plastic wrapping.

The United Nations notes that adopting these everyday habits can significantly reduce plastic waste and its impact on the environment.
