The World's Best Universities for Life Sciences

The 2026 Times Higher Education rankings list the world’s best universities for life sciences, with Stanford University leading globally with a score of 96.0.

The University of California, Berkeley follows in second place with 94.1, while the University of Oxford ranks third at 92.9. The University of Cambridge is fourth with 91.6, and Tsinghua University places fifth with a score of 90.2.

Harvard University ranks sixth, followed by the University of Hong Kong in seventh place.

Peking University is eighth, the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor ninth, and University College London rounds out the top ten.

Universities were assessed across teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement and international outlook.

The University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University are tied globally at position 801 with an overall score of 23.4.
