The Ugandan Electoral Commission has released an update on the ongoing tallying of the presidential election, reporting that results from 22,758 polling stations have been processed.
This figure represents 44.85% of the total 50,739 polling stations established across the country.
According to the commission, incumbent President Yoweri Museveni currently holds a leading position with 3.96 million votes, accounting for 76.25% of the valid votes counted so far.
The partial results mark an important stage in the election process as the commission approaches the halfway point of reporting.
Opposition Candidates’ Performance
The leading challenger, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, widely known as Bobi Wine, has received 1,312,047 votes, representing 19.85% of the valid votes reported. Other candidates have also recorded figures in the ongoing count.
Frank Kavinga has secured 23,267 votes, amounting to 0.45% of the counted votes. Another candidate listed as Robert has obtained 15,929 votes, or 0.31% of the current total.

Misha Gregory’s tally stands at 29,584 votes, representing 0.57%, while Joseph has garnered 10,910 votes, equivalent to 0.21% of the reported results.
The Electoral Commission emphasized that these totals reflect verified counts from the reporting polling stations and do not represent the final national results.
Voter Registration and Polling Logistics
The scale of the election is highlighted by the official voter registration figures. According to the commission, 21,649,067 Ugandans were registered to vote in this election.
To accommodate the electorate, the commission established a total of 50,739 polling stations nationwide. With 22,758 polling stations having submitted their results, 27,981 stations are yet to report.
Electoral officials continue to receive and verify the remaining returns, a process expected to take several more hours before a comprehensive national tally can be announced.
