Kenyan food delivery habits for the year have been outlined in the latest Uber Eats Kenya Cravings Report released on December 10, highlighting fried chicken as the country’s most-searched meal.
According to the report, customers generated tens of thousands of fried chicken queries on the app, making it the year’s biggest craving nationwide.
The busiest chicken outlet reportedly served more than 100 orders a day, reflecting a strong and growing preference for quick, crispy meals among users across major towns.
Pizza maintained its position as the country’s second most sought-after dish. The report notes that orders for pizza continued to rise steadily, particularly during weekends and public holidays, indicating a sustained appetite for shared meals and convenient group-friendly options.
High-Spending Customers Drive Notable Orders
Uber Eats recorded significant spending spikes from a section of its customers throughout the year.
The top spender on the platform placed orders worth Ksh 1.8 million, representing one of the highest individual totals recorded by the delivery service in Kenya.
Premium beverage orders also stood out, with one customer placing a drinks-only purchase amounting to Ksh 109,000.

The order featured a collection of high-end wines and specialty selections, contributing to what the platform described as a trend toward premium at-home dining experiences.
In another instance, a user spent Ksh 102,134 on close to 20 burgers and accompanying sides, marking one of the year’s largest single fast-food orders.
The report indicates that bulk orders of this kind were frequent during celebrations, office events, and group gatherings.
Unique and Memorable Orders Highlight User Behaviour
Among the year’s standout moments was what Uber Eats termed a “Lover’s Marathon” order, which totalled Ksh 80,400.
This delivery consisted of multiple romantic-themed selections placed over a short period, signalling creative use of food delivery services for personal gestures and special occasions.
The platform’s data further suggests that customers increasingly used the app for diverse purposes, from quick meals and comfort food to high-value items and themed orders.
The rising number of premium and bulk purchases points to shifting consumer behaviour, with users embracing app-based delivery for convenience, celebration, and lifestyle choices.
Growing Demand Shapes Kenya’s Food Delivery Landscape
The Uber Eats Kenya Cravings Report reflects a dynamic and evolving food delivery market, strengthened by high user engagement and varied order patterns.
As fried chicken and pizza continue leading national cravings, the platform’s insights highlight how convenience, spontaneity, and personalised choices have shaped Kenya’s digital dining culture over the past year.
