Kenya’s electric mobility industry is gearing up for its biggest showcase yet after the Africa EV Mobility Expo Kenya was virtually launched early Thursday as a curtain raiser for the December fete.

The launch is a run-up to the three-day event featuring major e-mobility solutions from the country and the region.

It will take place from 4–6 December 2025 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi, alongside the Africa Motor Show.

The virtual launch brought together senior government officials, industry leaders, and private sector representatives for discussions on the future of electric transport in Africa.

Key areas of focus included policy and regulatory frameworks, infrastructure and charging solutions, financing, safety, public education, and community engagement.

Speakers at the event included Chief Guest Eng. Michael Muchiri, KNCCI Nairobi Chair Dr. James Mwaura, KenInvest CEO John Mwendwa, and Carol Mutiso of GIZ.

They stressed the importance of collaboration and partnerships in scaling up EV adoption across the continent.

The program also highlighted Africa’s pressing priorities in sustainable transport, such as local manufacturing, electrification of public transport, and opportunities for small and medium enterprises.

Virtual networking sessions and B2B matchmaking enabled participants to explore partnerships ahead of December’s Expo.

By convening international and regional players under one roof, the Africa EV Mobility Expo aims to accelerate the continent’s transition to electric mobility while creating investment and trade opportunities across sectors.

The Africa EV Mobility Expo Kenya is expected to attract global innovators, investors, policymakers, and local businesses.

According to organizers, the three-day event will feature exhibitions, conferences, networking forums, and trade facilitation programs focused on expanding EV solutions in Africa.
