Patrick Osoi is a former soldier, intelligence officer, and now a presidential hopeful. At 35, he has already worn many hats—some in silence, others in the spotlight.

Born in Vihiga County in 1990 and raised in Embu, Osoi’s life has been a mix of hardship, discipline, and ambition.

Early Struggles

Long before politics or the military, Osoi was just trying to survive.

“I used to sell charcoal and books,” he once said, recalling his early days.

He went to Siakago Boys High School, then joined the NYS School of Engineering, where he studied automotive engineering.

The FBI Controversy

In a bold move, Osoi joined hands with three other former security officers to form a group called Fighting Brutality and Impunity (FBI).

The initiative was meant to challenge police violence and state abuse. But it didn’t go down well with authorities.

“Heavily armed officers took him in. This wasn’t an arrest. It was an abduction,” claimed his communications team.

Osoi was detained this week under serious accusations. Authorities say he was:

Mobilising ex-security officers

Preparing to commit a felony

Leading an anti-government political movement

By Wednesday morning, his team confirmed he was being held at Muthaiga Police Station.
