General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the son of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and a prominent figure in the country's military, has once again ignited a social media storm with a series of peculiar posts on X (formerly Twitter).

Known for his often unfiltered and controversial online commentary, his latest pronouncements have turned heads with a seemingly facetious "proposal" to arrest women based on their physical appearance.

On July 4, General Kainerugaba's verified X account (@mkainerugaba) posted multiple messages focusing on women's physical attributes, particularly their backsides, often referred to as "nyash."

In one striking tweet, he declared, "All women with Nyashes are brilliant! Muraregye!" This was swiftly followed by a more provocative statement, saying that the arrest of Nyashless women would be in the best interest of his country: "I’m sorry, but we will start arresting Nyashless women. This is for the future of the country. We can’t have women that look like men."

He further elaborated on this bizarre "rule," stating, "I’ve always had a rule in life. If a woman has a smaller nyash than mine, I must arrest her and report her to Police."

Concluding his thoughts on the matter, he offered an unusual piece of advice: "Bumless women there is hope! Do squats every day!"

This recent series of tweets aligns with a long history of controversial remarks from the Ugandan military chief, particularly concerning women and societal norms. One notable instance involved a directive for female soldiers to wear skirts instead of trousers during parades, with Kainerugaba asserting that trousers were "for men."

Such statements have consistently drawn criticism from various quarters, questioning their appropriateness for a high-ranking military official.

Beyond comments on gender and appearance, General Kainerugaba's X account has been a platform for numerous other diplomatically sensitive or politically charged pronouncements. He has previously garnered international attention for tweets that seemingly threatened to invade neighboring Kenya, claiming his army could capture its capital, Nairobi, in a matter of weeks. His social media activities have also included threats against prominent Ugandan opposition figures, such as Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) and Dr. Kizza Besigye. These online outbursts have, on several occasions, necessitated public apologies from his father, President Yoweri Museveni, to diffuse diplomatic tensions and reaffirm Uganda's commitment to peaceful relations.

Despite the persistent controversy surrounding his social media presence, Kainerugaba continues to wield significant influence and is widely perceived as a potential successor to his long-serving father.

Whether these statements are calculated moves to build a unique political brand or simply reflections of unbridled personal expression, they consistently place Uganda's military boss at the center of both national and international discourse.

His latest "proposal" regarding women's physique adds another layer to his already enigmatic public persona.
