In a significant development, Meshack Ojwang, the grieving father of the late Albert Ojwang, has adjusted his previously firm stance of not burying his son until justice was served.
The family has now set a definitive date for Albert's final rites, with the body expected to arrive at their home on the evening of the 3rd, and the burial scheduled for the 4th.
This is according to Mzee Meshack who spoke via phone call to Radio47 early on Friday.
"The evening of July 3rd, Albert's body will have arrived home, the next day is the day of the burial, which is 4th," Mzee Ojwang confirmed.

This decision marks a pivotal moment for a family that has been at the forefront of calls for justice following Albert's tragic passing.
Albert Ojwang was a young man whose life was cut short under controversial circumstances, leading to widespread public outcry and a determined demand for accountability from his family and the community.
The specifics of his death and the individuals allegedly involved have been a subject of intense public discourse and legal proceedings, prompting Meshack Ojwang's initial declaration that his son would not be laid to rest until the family received satisfactory answers and justice.
This bold stance garnered significant public attention, highlighting the profound pain and frustration of a father seeking closure through the legal system.

A Change of Heart: Trusting the Process
Speaking on the matter, Meshack Ojwang elaborated on his reasons for proceeding with the burial. He acknowledged that the pursuit of justice is a process. Crucially, he emphasized that the matter was now in the hands of the government, hence not wanting to delay further the burial of his son.
"In the matter of justice, it's a process, and now the process is in the hands of government. It's my belief that they will fulfil their responsibility because Albert's justice is justice for Kenyans and the entire world."
His statement suggests a reliance on the ongoing legal and investigative mechanisms, even as the family moves forward with the emotional step of burying their beloved son.
This shift indicates a pragmatic approach, recognizing that while the quest for justice continues, the immediate need to provide Albert with a dignified burial must also be addressed.

Final Journey Home
As the community prepares for the burial, the focus now shifts to providing Albert Ojwang with a peaceful final resting place.
The family's decision, while heartbreaking, showcases their resilience and continued hope in the justice system.
