Pope Leo XIV, global Catholic Church leader has shown his special love for the African continent after sending a specific and heartfelt message to the believers of this continent through his pages on social networks.
Leo XIV extended a message of love to the African continent after leading a mass on Monday afternoon, attended by hundreds of Ambassadors of African nations who are accredited to the Holy See, along with several people taking part in the Jubilee pilgrimage.
At the end of the Mass, Pope Leo XIV made an unannounced appearance to greet the delegations and offer encouragement.

In his off-the-cuff remarks, written in several languages spoken in Africa, the Pope said the 2025 Holy Year “inspires us all and invites us all to look for hope, but also to be signs of hope.”
‘Bara la Afrika linatoa ushuhuda mkubwa kwa ulimwengu mzima. Asante kwa kuishi imani yenu katika Yesu Kristo. Ni jinsi gani ilivyomuhimu kwamba kila mbatizwa ajisikie kuitwa na Mungu kuwaishara ya imani katika Ulimwengu wa leo,” the Swahili version of his statement via his Instagram read, translating to “The continent of Africa gives great witness to the whole world. Thank you for living your faith in Jesus Christ. How important it is that every baptized person feels himself or herself called by God to be a sign of hope in the world today!”
According to Vatican News, Pope Leo said faith allows us to be “filled with the hope that only Jesus Christ can give us.”
He expressed his hopes that “all of us together will continue to walk united as brothers and sisters to praise our God, to recognize that everything we have and everything we are is a gift from God, and to place those gifts at the service of others.”

The Pope then thanked the Ambassadors and pilgrims for living their own faith in Jesus Christ.
Swahili-speaking people who are predominantly from East Africa flocked to the comment section of Pope Leo XIV’s Instagram post to express their gratitude for the message of love and hope, conveyed to them in their first language.
