Activist and young politician, Morara Kebaso, has called on Kenyan youth not to judge his fellow youth, Kasmuel McOure, harshly before listening to his side of the story.

In a long message on his Facebook page, Kebaso said that instead of people rushing to judge McOure, they should give him time, listen to him so he can tell them his story and the choices of his decisions that made many youths suddenly hate him.

Kebaso said that McOure joined the ODM party as a tactic to save his life.

He alleged that McOure could have landed in trouble if he had not decided to join ODM. He further alleged that he would probably have been killed and would not have been able to fight for comrades.

Kebaso, who appeared to be taking a bullet on behalf of McOure, said he knows the story behind McOure’s decisions, but it’s not his to tell.

“A human being’s first instinct is survival. You cannot fight for Kenyans when you are dead. Give Kasmuel a chance to tell you his story. I know the story, but it’s not mine to tell. Many times we smile for the cameras, but deep inside is a lot of pain,” Kebaso said in part.

Kebaso said that McOure, like himself, is going through many challenges to openly oppose the government, which has at one time cost them jobs, businesses, and even families.

“Imagine sacrificing your job, your family, your business, and your safety for Kenyans, but they end up calling you a conman or a project without evidence. Just because you have told them that tribal identity is not a qualification for leadership. Just because you have told them that corruption cannot solve corruption,” Kebaso added.

The activist said that those people throwing all sorts of negative words towards Kasmuel, calling him a traitor, should first give him a listening ear so that he can explain himself.

Recently, Morara Kebaso and Kasmuel McOure reunited and announced themselves as a new force to fight for the weak voices of the youth who are the majority in the country.

Their reunion comes months after Kasmuel was seen to have defected to the ODM party, which had formed a partnership with the government.

Throughout this period, Kasmuel seemed to ignore the youth, although it was through the youth during their protests last year that he gained popularity before ODM noticed him.

Due to this, even after returning to the youth side, some have still not given him a proper welcome, for what they still see as a traitor.

However, McOure still identifies as a youth leader in ODM, advocating for youth voices.

Kebaso, on his part, insisted that he is ready to continue with his course even if people call him names in a bid to discourage him.

“I will not stop. Even if you bring all the negative comments in this world to my post, Iam fighting to the dying end. Call me a liar, a conman, a thief, a project, a traitor, anything. I'm never going back.”

“You may not join me today. But with time, your conscience will be clearer and your spirit will lead you this way,” he expressed his conviction.
