The incident involving a pastor found with a snake in Busia County has taken an unexpected turn after the minister claimed that the snake appeared following intense prayers to rebuke demons.

The event, which has sparked renewed debate over the legitimacy of modern-day pastors and their activities, unfolded when the pastor was caught trying to cross the Kenya-Uganda border with a snake in his bag.

Local police, who stopped the pastor around 6 p.m. at the border, were shocked to discover a live snake inside his bag.

The police officers, who had initially opened the bag, were reportedly stunned and momentarily frozen in fear as the cobra stared back at them.

One witness recounted, "The police dropped the bag quickly and rushed back to their seats in panic. They then held an emergency meeting."

During questioning, the 26-year-old pastor’s explanation took the officers by surprise. He claimed that the Holy Spirit had guided him to a homestead where he captured the snake alive.

He further explained that he was on a spiritual mission to eradicate witchcraft practices, and he intended to pray over the snake at his church in Matayos after completing his mission in Uganda.

Despite his explanation, local authorities were unconvinced and arrested him. The pastor is expected to face charges related to the illegal possession and transportation of wildlife.

This bizarre incident has reignited concerns about the activities of some pastors, with many questioning the authenticity of such claims and practices in modern-day ministries.
