Causes of a stitch

A side stitch is a common occurrence during exercise, characterized by a sharp, stabbing pain in the side of the abdomen, often under the ribcage.

The pain can range from a dull ache to a sharp, stabbing sensation, and it's often felt on the right side but can occur on either side.

Side stitches are common among runners and swimmers but can occur in anyone participating in physical activity.
