Charlene Ruto’s husband, Isaya Yunge, has moved social media users after a video showing him walking down the aisle alone during their wedding emerged online.
The emotional footage captured Isaya making his way towards the altar without a parent or another family member accompanying him, a moment that prompted Kenyans to reflect on his personal journey.
The businessman married President William Ruto’s daughter in a lavish ceremony in Mwanza, Tanzania, on Friday, November 6.
While much of the attention surrounding the wedding has focused on the couple’s celebrations, Isaya’s solo entrance has also become a talking point, particularly following revelations about his upbringing.
Isaya Yunge’s difficult childhood
Isaya reportedly experienced a challenging childhood after his parents separated when he was still young.
His grandmother took on the responsibility of raising him, and he spent much of his early life helping with household activities, including herding goats and cattle and working around rice plantations.
He also began his formal education relatively late, joining school at the age of seven.
His childhood was further marked by periods spent in different foster homes, experiences that exposed him to the difficulties of growing up without a consistent family environment.

The wedding footage has therefore prompted conversations about how his early experiences may have shaped his journey into adulthood.
Expert explains significance of Isaya’s solo entrance.
Relationship expert Allan Lawrence weighed in on the emotional moment, explaining that walking down the aisle alone could carry a deeper meaning for someone with Isaya’s background.
Speaking to TUKO, he observed that people who grow up in foster homes may experience disrupted emotional attachments and inconsistent family support.
“Isaya walking down the aisle alone may carry a story much deeper than what meets the eye. It reminds us that not everyone arrives at life’s milestones with the same support system as expected,” Lawrence explained.

The expert further suggested that such a moment could represent a person’s journey towards independence after growing up without the traditional family support system.
“Sometimes, the people celebrating the beginning of a new family are still healing from the family experiences they never had,” he added.
Isaya’s wedding entrance has consequently drawn attention beyond the celebrations, with viewers reflecting on the personal experiences that people carry into important milestones.
