It was a weekend of horses, high fashion, premium experiences and a meaningful cause as Nairobi Polo Club hosted its inaugural Pink Polo tournament in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The tournament brought together polo enthusiasts, fashion lovers, influencers and supporters of breast cancer awareness for an event that blended sporting action with conversations around health, hope and solidarity.
Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), through its premium beer brand Tusker Malt, partnered with Nairobi Polo Club to elevate the experience, continuing a five-year relationship with the club.
And if there was one thing that stood out beyond the action on the pitch, it was the fashion.
Guests embraced the occasion's pink theme, stepping out in stylish outfits that reflected the spirit of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The colour pink, widely associated with breast cancer awareness, dominated the fashion scene, complemented by other shades symbolising courage, hope and solidarity with individuals and families affected by cancer.

A spectacular parade with a powerful message
Beyond the competitive action, one of the tournament's standout moments was a grand horse parade that transformed the polo field into a colourful spectacle.
Horses and their riders took to the turf in an elegant procession, displaying different colours representing various types of cancer affecting both men and women.
The parade added a symbolic dimension to the tournament, reminding attendees that the event was not only about sport and entertainment but also about raising awareness of a disease that affects families and communities across Kenya.
The inaugural fixture provided an opportunity for guests to enjoy polo while participating in a broader conversation about cancer awareness and solidarity.

KBL brings a premium touch to Pink Polo
Speaking during the tournament, Tusker Malt Brand Manager Naomi Kiema highlighted the brand's longstanding relationship with Nairobi Polo Club and its commitment to supporting lifestyle experiences that bring communities together.
“Polo has long been a celebrated canvas where sport, fashion, community and fine craftsmanship meet. As a longtime partner of the Nairobi Polo Club, we are excited to support this inaugural Pink Polo tournament which promises a blend of community, fashion and style, entertainment and meaningful conversation,” she said.
As part of the weekend's hospitality offering, KBL also introduced a dedicated pitch-side VIP experience for groups seeking a more exclusive way to enjoy the tournament.
The Sh15,000 package for four people featured reserved table service with prime views of the polo pitch, alongside a pitcher of Tusker Malt Shandy and a bottle of Tanqueray No. 10.
The arrangement gave guests an opportunity to follow the action from a designated hospitality area while enjoying the tournament's social atmosphere.

Where fashion, sport and awareness meet
Pink Polo added a different dimension to Nairobi's social calendar by bringing together the elegance of polo, fashion and a cause that extends beyond the sporting field.
For the attendees, the tournament offered a chance to dress up, enjoy the action and connect with fellow enthusiasts.
But beyond the colourful outfits, horse parade and pitch-side experiences, the event also served as a reminder of the importance of standing in solidarity with people affected by cancer.
With its first Pink Polo tournament, Nairobi Polo Club introduced an event that combined lifestyle entertainment with awareness, demonstrating how sporting occasions can also provide a platform for meaningful conversations.
And as the horses left the field and the weekend celebrations came to a close, the message remained clear: Pink Polo was about more than a game. It was about community, courage and a shared cause.
