Health experts are calling for coordinated efforts to improve early diagnosis and access to treatment for children with cancer in Kenya. At a stakeholder workshop hosted by Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital, the Ministry of Health and other partners highlighted the need to strengthen referrals, raise public awareness and address the financial barriers facing families. The study found a median of 46 days between caregivers noticing symptoms and a child receiving a diagnosis, followed by another 11 days before treatment began.
