KFC will introduce a Kenyan-inspired menu and a locally designed fashion collection as part of a month-long campaign aimed at blending fast food, fashion and entertainment.

The campaign, dubbed Kentucky Town 254, will run from October 20 to November 15, 2026, marking the restaurant chain’s first rollout of the concept in East Africa.

The initiative will feature seven limited-time menu items inspired by local foods and flavours, alongside a clothing collection developed in partnership with Nairobi-based fashion house home_254.

KFC will also host four weekend pop-up events at shopping malls in Nairobi, where visitors can take part in games, music and other interactive activities.

The menu includes The Colonel’s Mandazi Burger, The Colonel’s Mandazi Pops, the Kentucky Choma Burger, Samosa Crunch and masala fries, as well as Birthday Cake and One in a Melon Krushers.

The launch comes as restaurant chains increasingly incorporate local flavours and cultural elements into their offerings to appeal to consumers seeking alternatives to standardised international menus.

“We didn't want to bring Kentucky Town to Kenya and simply put a Kenyan name on it. We wanted Kenya to have a say in what Kentucky Town becomes,” said Dorothy Muthoni, chief marketing officer at Kuku Foods East Africa, KFC’s franchisee in Kenya.

The campaign will extend beyond the restaurants through pop-ups at The Junction Mall from October 23 to 25, Galleria Shopping Mall from October 30 to November 1, The Hub Karen from November 6 to 8, and Garden City Mall from November 13 to 15.

Customers who purchase a Kentucky Town meal at participating KFC outlets can use their receipts to access the pop-up events.

Activities will include dance challenges, virtual reality games, basketball competitions and photo booths. The first 100 visitors to the October 23 event will receive a complimentary Samosa Crunch, according to the company.

The fashion collection, developed with home_254, will feature T-shirts, crop tops, varsity jackets, sweatshirts, sweatpants, jorts, shrugs and puffer jackets.

The partnership gives the campaign a local fashion component, with the collection designed, produced and hand-printed in Kenya.

“Everything is designed and made in Kenya and hand-printed locally, so a Kentucky Town piece carries a little bit of home long after the campaign ends,” said Job Brian Jura, founder of home_254.

The collection will be available through a merchandise shop at the pop-up events, where visitors can also try on the clothing and take photographs.

KFC has also lined up Kenyan content creators, including Kendi Q, comedian Mwirigi and Wangari Kairu, to promote the campaign through social media and appearances at the events.

Kentucky Town originated in South Africa and has previously been held in Namibia and Mauritius. The Kenyan launch expands the concept into East Africa.

Kenya is KFC’s second-largest African market after South Africa, with 48 restaurants, according to the company.

Hloni Mohope, chief marketing officer at KFC Africa, said the campaign combines food, entertainment and merchandise to introduce customers to different interpretations of the brand’s menu.

The company has not disclosed the expected revenue contribution of the campaign or the investment made in its Kenyan rollout.
