Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has unexpectedly found himself in the music business, at least according to an AI-generated video that has been making rounds online.

The clip, posted on Instagram, uses artificial intelligence to reimagine the politician as a rapper performing alongside Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.

In the video, Sifuna appears dressed in a blue jacket, matching sneakers, sagging jeans and a chain around his neck as he walks towards a huge outdoor stage holding a microphone.

Babu is seen beside him in an all-black outfit, complete with a red jacket and red sneakers.

The pair appear to be heading towards a massive crowd as a rap song plays in the background.
Adding another unexpected twist to the clip, former Justice Minister Martha Karua is shown among the crowd holding up her phone and seemingly recording the performance.

Sifuna gets a rapper name.

While the video itself caught people’s attention, Kenyans appeared even more entertained by the suggestions for Sifuna’s possible stage name.

Some social media users quickly came up with names they thought would suit the senator if he ever decided to venture into music.

Someone else appeared to embrace the idea of seeing Sifuna on stage:

@matwanaculture: "Let him come like that to the inauguration."

Another commenter focused on the unexpected appearance of Karua in the AI-generated scene, asking:
@bolobespoke: "Who has not seen Martha Karua?"

Sifuna’s AI transformation

The video comes at a time when Sifuna has been appearing alongside Babu Owino at political events, making their pairing in the AI creation particularly noticeable.

The two politicians have been associated with the Linda Mwananchi movement, with Babu publicly stating in September that he supports Sifuna.

Sifuna is known for his public speaking and outspoken political commentary, while Babu has also previously been associated with music and entertainment.

For now, though, the AI video has given Kenyans a chance to imagine what the two would look like if they traded political rallies for a concert stage.
