Mining and Blue Economy Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho has turned heads after showing off a red Ferrari Purosangue estimated to be worth KSh105 million.

A video shared online captured the former Mombasa governor standing beside the luxury vehicle before opening its door and getting inside.

The footage quickly attracted attention on social media, with Kenyans discussing the expensive machine and Joho's well-known taste for luxury vehicles.

According to reports, the Ferrari is estimated to cost between KSh100 million and KSh115 million once import charges and other expenses are factored in.

However, the exact purchase price of Joho's vehicle has not been independently confirmed.

What makes the Ferrari Purosangue special?

The Ferrari Purosangue stands out because it combines the Italian manufacturer's performance-focused engineering with a four-door design.

Unlike the traditional two-door sports cars associated with Ferrari, the Purosangue accommodates four people and offers additional practicality without abandoning the brand's emphasis on performance.

The vehicle is powered by a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine producing 725 horsepower. It can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in approximately 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed exceeding 310 kilometres per hour.

Ferrari has also equipped the model with rear-hinged back doors, allowing passengers to access the rear seats more easily.

The Purosangue is the manufacturer's first four-door, four-seat production model, making it a distinctive addition to its line-up.

Inside Joho's luxury car collection

The latest acquisition adds to a collection of high-end vehicles that Joho has been associated with over the years.

Among them is a Bentley Mulsanne, a luxury limousine that attracted attention when he arrived at the Boyz II Men concert at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi in June 2023.

The vehicle has been valued at more than KSh30 million in previous media reports.

Joho has also been linked to a Ferrari California, a convertible sports car estimated at KSh37 million, and a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon valued at approximately KSh17 million.

In December 2021, footage of a red Ferrari California circulating online prompted speculation that the vehicle belonged to the politician.

Its number plate, which reportedly featured his familiar '001' tag, fuelled the speculation at the time.

His collection has also been associated with other luxury vehicles, including a Porsche Cayenne and several BMW models.
