First of all, we are very happy as the United Alternative Government that Sifuna has been registered. We really wanted the United Opposition to be strong and that means all our partners must be strong.
I am happy Sifuna is finally going to have a very popular party. The Registrar of Political Parties cannot disobey the court. He has to obey the ruling, which gave the Linda Mwananchi the greenlight for registration.
I have looked at all the issues. In fact, the other issue that was stopping him was an initial issue. This one is proper. Linda Mwanachi will be a party very different from any other party because of the name Mwanachi.
Therefore, we want to assist Sifuna to move very fast and complete the registration, and even launch the party and launch his presidential bid, so that he can now go to the negotiating table as a presidential candidate, like the way the others have done.
Why would he not meet the deadlines? For what reason? It is usually a deadline of 90 days. Why will he not meet? He will meet. He is more than interested in registering the party.
There is no other business we are doing now other than just selling Linda Mwanachi.
On the question of the deadline: Why not register within 14 days? What will stop him from registering? There is nothing stopping him from registering within 14 days.
After all, we have been following it. There has been a delay in the registration. They should have registered the party a long time ago.
The court has already given the approval. What is left is for them to do the paperwork, and they cannot refuse to do the paperwork.
In fact, I am going to camp there to make sure the party is registered.
There are no more legal intrigues. The court has decided. The Registrar of Political Parties should stop playing politics. It cannot afford to play partisan politics with Kenyans who want to register parties. Senator Sifuna will take care of his party, and now he is working very well with the United Alternative Government.
So we want them to launch the party and launch their presidential bid.
The court has decided, and the ORPP should obey the court.
