The Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ) and the Kenya School of Law (KSL) have advertised vacancies for senior positions as the public institutions seek to strengthen their leadership and service delivery.
CAJ, also known as the Office of the Ombudsman, is seeking to recruit a Director, Complaints, Investigation and Legal Services to be based at its headquarters.
The Commission, established under Article 59(4) of the Constitution and the Commission on Administrative Justice Act, 2011, is mandated to address maladministration in the public sector at both national and county levels. It also oversees and enforces implementation of the Access to Information Act, 2016.
In the vacancy notice, CAJ said applicants who meet the requirements should submit their applications through its e-recruitment portal via www.ombudsman.go.ke by close of business on October 21, 2026.
“Hard copy applications will not be accepted or considered,” the Commission said, adding that canvassing would lead to automatic disqualification.
Applicants holding certificates from foreign institutions are required to provide proof of recognition and evaluation by the Commission for University Education (CUE).
CAJ said only shortlisted candidates would be contacted and reaffirmed its commitment to providing equal opportunities to all genders, ethnic groups and persons living with disabilities in line with Article 232(1) of the Constitution.
Meanwhile, the Kenya School of Law has advertised the position of Director/Chief Executive Officer as it seeks to strengthen its management and advance its mandate in professional legal training, research and consultancy.
The institution said it was looking for “an independent, visionary and strategic thinker” who is customer-oriented, understands the institution’s mandate and the needs of the legal sector, and can participate effectively in organisational transformation.
The position is part of efforts to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery and support the School’s vision of becoming a Centre of Excellence in Professional Legal Training, Research and Consultancy.
Interested applicants are required to visit www.ksl.ac.ke, select Careers, create an account and submit their applications through the School’s recruitment portal.
The deadline for applications is October 20, 2026. The institution said applicants who previously applied for the re-advertised position may apply again.
