Overall, 47 per cent of respondents said they did not consume alcohol.
Kenya recorded the highest proportion of non-drinkers, with 57 per cent of respondents saying they did not consume alcohol.
This compared with 44 per cent in Nigeria and 28 per cent in South Africa.
