Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen has urged residents of Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot living along the Kerio Valley escarpment to relocate to safer, higher ground ahead of projected heavy rains. He warned that the area is highly vulnerable to floods and landslides during heavy rainfall. The advisory is part of a national emergency preparedness plan led by the Ministry of Interior and the National Disaster Operations Centre (NDOC).
