Livestock PS Jonathan Mueke has assured Kenyans that the government is rolling out measures to ease milk supply constraints, largely attributed to prolonged drought and rising animal feed costs. Milk production fell by 3.7 percent in July, with the government expecting supply to improve once the rains return and pastures recover. To address feed shortages, PS Mueke said the government plans to facilitate the importation of 500,000 tonnes of duty-free yellow maize for animal feed.
