Former Chief Justice David Maraga says the average number of deaths linked to police brutality has been higher under the last four years of the current administration than during former President Mwai Kibaki’s 10-year tenure. Maraga further blamed a partisan police force for human rights violations witnessed during the 2024 Gen Z protests and recent attacks on opposition leaders at church services, public rallies and the Ol Kalou by-election.
