Former Chief Justice David Maraga has questioned the legality of Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja and DCI Director Mohamed Amin remaining in office after exceeding the constitutional retirement age for civil servants. Speaking while releasing the Police Reforms Taskforce report, Maraga said extensions for retired security officers should only be granted in exceptional cases where an individual possesses rare and specialized skills.
