An appartment where two suspects in Dr. Victoria murder were arrested in Uganda.

Two suspects linked to the murder of Dr. Victoria Mutiso have been arrested in Uganda, while a third has been intercepted in Nairobi.

A specialised team from DCI Headquarters — drawn from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), Operations Directorate and Homicide Bureau — arrested the two in Kyanja Heights flats, Nakawa, Kampala, with assistance from Uganda Police Force.

The suspects are No. 118491 Police Constable Bett Kiplangat Collins attached to Thogoto Police Station and Pius Muiru Mbugua, a civilian.

They had reportedly sneaked into Uganda after the murder.

The duo are being held at Jinja Road Police Station pending return to Nairobi.

Earlier, the team intercepted a third suspect, Samuel Karanja Gathoni alias “Lawyer” in Langata as he headed towards Ongata Rongai.

Investigators say PC Bett was tasked with surveillance and served as co-driver to Daniel Mwangi Njoroge, a central organiser and driver of Land Cruiser Prado KDH 600A.

The vehicle was used to block the Uber in which Dr. Victoria was travelling on July 29, 2026 in Upper Hill, moments before she was fatally shot.

Pius Muiru Mbugua is described as a key link between the execution team and the person who contracted them, serving as paymaster for logistics and movement of the hit team.

The National Police Service has acknowledged Uganda Police Force for its cooperation in the raid and detention.

DCI says the three will be processed and arraigned once returned.

The Service has also dismissed claims that suspects had been arrested and quietly released, terming them false and aimed at discrediting the investigation.

The latest arrests makes the number of suspects in police custody over the murder to seven.

They include Rose Mbithe Mulwa and her two children,  Angela Mulwa and Chris Mulwa.

Rose Mbithe Mulwa alias Rose Mbithe Ndetei - is the main suspect in Dr. Victoria Mutiso murder. She told court she divorced Prof. David Ndetei (husband to Dr. Mutiso) 30 years ago.

Rose says she has 4 children - 3 lawyers and an IT expert.

The 2 children charged with her are Chris Mulwa - Son, lawyer / advocate and Angela Mulwa - Daughter, second-born, also a lawyer / advocate - She was the lawyer who was representing her mother and brother in court before she was herself arrested.
