Ruto started the Y2K movement at a young age, and has always celebrated victory in whichever race he embarked on. The opposition team should let Ruto be. They are not into putting up a challenge against Ruto. They appear more inclined towards protests. They should let the president be.
I have observed that the top players, like former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua saying he has the gravitas to fight Ruto. It is laughable, coming from a man who served as MP for just one term, and a quarter term as Deputy President.
He knows no politics. With Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro coming out, all MPs he frustrated have found a home. The DCP fire will die with the emergence of Ndindi, lowering his bargaining power.
The opposition is appearing as a team that has not prepared itself for what’s ahead of them. They have not stated any clear agenda for wananchi apart from insults and propaganda.
For us, the confusion is just okay as long as it continues. It proves Ruto right in his declaration that the opposition has no agenda for the country. This is why the President is resting easy, with our campaign for Mt Kenya East to be given its chance making things harder for the team.
The Mt Kenya East communities, with approximately 1.5 million possible votes, have agreed to rally behind the President and his deputy, Kithure Kindiki. The Njuri Ncheke and several other councils of elders have resolved to back Ruto's reelection.
When the election is called next year, we will defeat the opposition even if they unite. Ruto will win with a resounding margin, with or without a united opposition. Gachagua and his team will really cry on August 10, 2027.
